Easter

We had a great Easter! Grammy Vincent was off of school so we went up early to Garrettsville and spent almost a week with them. Vince dyed eggs with his Uncle Paul and Aunt Kateri and had a great time. It's the little things you know... :)

Daddy joined us on the weekend and we all went to church on Easter and had a great dinner. The kids liked their baskets and Vince found some Easter eggs outside in the yard even though it was cold- he didn't mind as long as chocolate was involved. Easter evening we played Rock band and Vince had a GREAT time. He especially loved the drums as you can see in the picture above.

We made it home on Monday and now we ALL have colds! Good times!!

Spring has Sprung!

We at the Martineau household are hoping that this beautiful weather keeps up! We'd like to get outside and enjoy this, but it's hard with alternating naps all day long!

Mia is quite the smile button, except when she is tired! Today she is 2 months old!! She is such a happy baby. And seems like she is going to be quite the talker. She is already cooing away. And working on 6 months clothing! She is my happy, little chunky monkey!

Vince is doing pretty well. He loves being outside and there is this neighborhood cat that just LOVES him! It's really funny. His name is "Spidey" and he comes over whenever Vince is outside. He lays on the ground and lets Vince pet him and practically step on him. I found a picture... And he still LOVES his sister to death, hopefully not HER'S!
Everyone have a great Easter!!!

Easter pictures of the kids

We took the kids yesterday to get their pictures done in their coordinating outfits, but of course crazy Vince wouldn't take a picture with Mia- he's quite the chump sometimes! These were Mia's 1st pictures at the studio I used to work at. She did a good job, was tired because they were during naptime, but did pretty well. She only smiles for mommy and daddy! (and most others...! )

We had fun and did the best we could- THANK GOD it's over!!

We've made it 6 weeks!

Well, it's been 6 weeks since we brought Mia home from the hospital! Hasn't been too bad really. Vince ADORES her completely and most times I can't get him to leave her alone. He is constantly kissing her and trying to hold her. It's cute but sometimes drives me a little crazy. And I swear he is 10x louder then before we had her! He constantly is yelling and banging and just crazy! He's 2 though, what do I expect?!

Mia is doing well. She is getting very big- no suprise there. She's probably over 11 lbs. by now and getting tall. She sleeps well at night, once you can get her to sleep- she really fights it at night! Swaddling has helped alot. There was one night a couple weeks ago that we were up till 3am- I thought we wouldn't make it! I'd like to forget that one, it's a sad day when you get really mad at a newborn... :(

So we're all adjusting pretty well. Gabe is back to work and spring is coming! Thank God so we can get out of the house a little- Vince needs to burn off some energy!
That's all for now!

A Crazy week and a half!

Well, Mia Rose was finally born on February 4, 2009 after being slightly forced into it with Petocin! I was actually already contracting, but was helped along a little, which was nice because I wanted to eat lunch! Selfish- I know.... She can out at 12:05 pm after about 10 minutes of pushing and weighed 9 lbs. 11 oz. and 21 in.! I knew she was big, but CRIP!

That evening my parents called to say that Vince was getting worse with his cold and come to find out after Gabe went home to stay with him, that he had Croup! What lousy timing! This kid is NEVER sich and never this sick if he is!! So after some consideration and a couple days at home, Mia and I went to stay with my parents to "hide" from it.

Too bad it didn't work! Mia is now sick and having a sick newborn is SCARY! We're constantly cleaning out her nose, she has a little cough, and I keep checking for breathing! Don't rememeber the last time I was this stressed...

That together with having family visits, etc. has made for an exciting week and a half that feels more like a month! Thank God Gabe has been home and will be for a little while longer.
